Fall Leaf Tour - Tape Ralley

2006

Photos by Dennis Ward

We were again hosted and converged on upper Dauphin county for our "leaf peeper" tour. However, this year, we had a tape ralley. It is really quite simple. The directions are red - turn right, yellow - left, and white straight at the intersection - where marked. The trick soon became apparent to many - not all intersections are marked and you only go where the tape instructs you. I swear someone took the tape off the one turn.

Discussing things and there is a rally staring soon too....

Some brave souls still running with the open sky

And what is in the new car?

Individual starts and the leaves are at their best - makes it hard to watch for the tape.

After meeting cars going the other way and conferring on the meaning of the instructions, we all end up at the same end point.

From here we get good directions from our host on parking and make our way to the kettle.

Over the river and through the woods to the bean soup

The hosts have all the food ready too

And who has the correct distance and the winning number?

The food keeps the crowd.

Until a brief sprinkle clears the area...

and we make our way back to the rest of the world with a wave goodbye to the leaves, our friends, and another good Triumph driving season in central Pennsylvania.
