  • October 2005: Fall Leaf Tour: A favorite annual event, the tour featured 25 Triumphs, including Dick and Diane James's triumphant return to PA after 5 years in Florida. The fall colors were gorgeous, the bean soup was superb, and the company the best.
  • December 2005: CPTC Holiday party: Bill and Paula Shover hosted this gala event at their home in Carlisle. 40 members reveled in the holiday spirit, the second annual gift exchange, and the passing of the prunes (don't ask). This is a group of folks you can always feel comfortable with!
  • February 2006: Winter Wonderland: The brunch held at Allenberry Resort drew 66 members. Although it was chilly outside, good cheer, fellowship, and talk of the coming spring warmed the room.

  • May 2006: Carlisle Import Show: A dreary Friday blossomed into a sunny Saturday. There were 45 Triumphs at our tent, and two new members in our roles. As usual, our great CPTC regalia left the tables over the weekend, though some of it was blown off!
  • June 2006: Original British Car Day: All 3 members who drove to the Lilypons Water Garden show won trophies - Rich Roenigk's TR4, Alex Manzo's TR6, and John Krause's TR250. A beautiful setting for beautiful British cars.
  • June 2006: Reading Run: The Boyers and Grubes arranged for great weather for the 15 Triumphs and one 'Vette, but somehow ended up in Lebanon County. We started at the Mt Hope Winery and toured the historic Cornwall Furnace, ending at the Quentin Tavern.

  • October 2006:Upper Dauphin Tape Rally: Though almost every top was up on the 26 Triumphs, we enjoyed another colorful drive in the countryside. Rally master Ron Hain placed red, yellow and white tape at strategic points to guide (and confuse) the rallyists. No one was complaining by the time they finished the famous bean soup.
  • November 2006: CPTC General Elections: The Skyline Restaurant was the site for a nice meal, a Board meeting, and the election of officers - VP John Krause, Treasurer Joe Laurito, and Webmaster Dave English.
  • December 2006: CPTC Holiday Party: Joe and Michele Laurito offered their home this year for a fun party, with the traditional gift exchange. Untraditional was the power outage that had everyone concerned until the lights came on 5 minutes before the party began. The Lauritos know how to make an event memorable.
  • February 2007: Winter Wonderland: Expecting almost 75 members, a bold contingent some 50 strong braved the sleet to attend our annual mid-winter get-together. The hearty buffet and stout camaraderie warmed the occasion at the Allenberry Resort in Boiling Springs.
  • March 2007: Steele Motors Tech session: on this rainy Saturday morning, Kelby instructed 20 CPTC members on the care and safety of our Triumphs, and a review of the PA DOT auto inspection manual.
  • April 2007: Apple Blossom Charity Run: Carol and Alan Tucker created a masterful route from Dillsburg, through the apple orchards of Adams County, to end with a picnic lunch in Biglerville, and Ralph Eriksen organized the event into a fund-raiser for the 4 Diamonds Fund. Total donation, with CPTC matching funds = $1430.00.
  • May 2007: Carlisle Import/Kit Car show: The weather was great, the selection of parts exceptional. On Saturday, 44 Triumphs were counted, including the Spitfire Squadron. Gene Schrader grilled hot dogs, and Joe Laurito won the give-away car, a Datsun 280ZX!
  • June 2007: Reading Run: When you combine 10 Triumphs, 1 MGB, a beautiful late spring Saturday, Amish farmland, and good food, you have a great CPTC event. The Boyers and Grubes led a tour among the buggies, sprouting corn, & covered bridges, ending with a feast at the Shady Maple buffet.
  • July 2007: British Invade Gettysburg: for the 7th year in a row, LANCO MG club brought a huge gathering of British cars together to raise funds for Toys for Tots. Jaguar, Lotus, Daimler, MG, Bentley, and of course Triumph, were all shined up to show. Of special note were two examples of the Triumph Southern Cross.
  • July 2007: VTR Nationals: this year the VTR event was hosted by Delaware Valley Triumphs in nearby Valley Forge. Rich Roenigk, the Grubes, the Millers, the Rifes, the Bakes, Mike Weist, the Snaveleys, & Stu Kennedy were among the many Triumph owners at this national event - 280 Triumphs!
  • July 2007: Spring Run: In July? Other events pushed this tour into another month altogether, so the Shovers declared July to be spring. Starting in Carlisle, the Triumphs ran through Perry County (and a 'spring' shower), rested at Col. Denning State Park, and ended up at the Rich Valley Golf Club for a nice lunch.
  • August 2007: Celtic Festival: Aye Lassie, it was a hot day - tops down and it was off to Spyglass Ridge Winery. Nine CPTC Triumphs made the trek. A beautiful drive and a beautiful setting. Thanks to the Lauritos and Sue Kistler for organizing the caravan.
  • September 2007: CPTC Summer Picnic: Combine a beautiful summer day, 34 Triumphs, an auction, free gifts, great food and good company (77 adults & 3 kids), and you have one of the most popular events of the year. Allenberry's chefs outdid themselves this year!
  • October 2007: Fall Leaf Tour: The Ham and Bean Soup Rallye took us through God's country, aka Upper Dauphin County. 20 Triumphs toured the leaf-strewn byways, guided by strips of colored tape, with the goal of being the first to make it to the picnic grove. Not as easy as it sounds, but everyone made it EVENTUALLY for a fine picnic.
  • November 2007: Membership Board Meeting with General Election: The title says it all. The Rich Valley Golf club hosted our election meeting. We welcomed Bill Shover in a return gig as President, Bob Iwan as our new Secretary, and Dennis Ward, newsletter editor, after a long hiatus.
  • December 2007: Holiday Party: What did you get for Christmas? Someone got a furry blue lamp! Service and accommodations were great at the Rich Valley Golf Club, with about 75 members attending the annual party and enjoying a fine buffet.
  • February 2008: Winter Wonderland: Friday, February 22 was horrible. Snow overnight, sleet and freezing rain during the day. This left a beautiful blanket of snow over everything, and Saturday was cold enough not to melt it. Sunday was the complete opposite of Friday, with bright sun, blue sky and temperatures in the 40's. We were greeted by a gorgeous, rustic winter scene as we approached Allenberry and turned up the drive.
  • March 2008: Steele Motors Tech Session: After warming our innards with coffee and doughnuts, Kelby led a group discussion in how to best prepare your car for spring driving after a long, hard winter.
  • May 2008: Hershey Vintage Hillclimb: The HVH is an event notable for its history. Dating back to 1958, the original Hershey Hillclimb had hosted as many as 274 entries and 10,000 spectators in a single year. It ended in the early 1970's, but the HVH resumed racing in 2002 after a hiatus of 30+ years.
  • August 2008: Celtic Festival: The drive up to the Spyglass Ridge Winery, which is located just south of Sunbury, is one of the more enjoyable jaunts, heading up just east of the Susquehanna River, going over the ridges, and staying on country roads. All in all, we had a nice showing of British cars that the crowd enjoyed. Along with the wine tasting, there was plenty of food, vendors selling their Celtic wares, a falconer, and over 7 bands taking two stages.
  • August 2008: York County Run and Hoffman Estate Tour: Dennis took us on a wonderful ride on back roads and several times stopped to allow the 30+ cars to catch up and fall in line. The current owners, Taylor and Mary Jane Miller, welcomed us with variety of British (and non-British) vintage cars displayed for us to enjoy while we toured the grounds.
  • September 2008: U.S Vintage Grand Prix of Watkins Glen: The drive to New York's Finger Lakes Region is second to none. One of the vintage weekend highlights has always been Friday's all-day "Grand Prix Festival" held in the downtown proper, and this year Triumph was the Featured Marque. Friday's events culminate with the Grand Prix exhibition, where SVRA racecars are gridded on Franklin Street for display. Saturday morning included qualifying races and a massive car show, again with Feature Marque emphasis and the weekend presence of Kas Kastner. Two outstanding Triumphs were the first TR2, and the one-off racing TR-250K designed by Peter Brock.
  • September 2008: CPTC Picnic at Allenberry: The party began with a gathering of Triumphs on the picnic grounds, followed by the famous Allenberry lunch. On the 'show field' Ed Mohler's newly finished GT6 race car drew a crowd.
  • September 2008: Meeting of the Marques: The Susquehanna Valley Vintage Sports Car Club hosted the 18th Annual Meeting of the Marques (MOM) at the Allenberry Resort and Playhouse. On this particular beautiful sunny day, the show field had nice selection of British Cars to feast the eyes on. The best of show winner was a 1953 Nash Healey roadster that was absolutely outstanding.
  • March 2009: Triumph Rescue Tech: Among the attendees were CPTC club members and some folks from the Delaware Valley Triumph club. Matt's building is divided into a body shop, chassis shop, paint booth, mechanical shop and assembly area. His agenda this year was to have all his team members available in their respective work areas to demonstrate their skills and answer questions in a one-on-one venue.
  • May 2009: The Carlisle Import Show: The first exchange of cash at the CPTC Regalia Tent on Saturday morning was the sale of the new CPTC logo T-Shirt. Gene Shrader provided his unique TR7 grilling equipment for a scrumptious lunch on Saturday. AND… we didn't need to sell any umbrellas this year!
  • June 2009: TRA Nationals: Rich Roenigk, the adventurous character that he is, drove his TR3 while Cliff and Kathy Grube cautiously trailered theirs to Charles Town Raceway in WV. The event was well planned, with tours, workshops, a car show, "funkhana", concours judging, and a parts auction.
  • July 2009: AACA Museum Tour: Event organizers Elsie and Jay Snavely led us into the museum as a group to check out the exhibits. When we finished, a caravan followed behind Jay and Elsie's 64 Mustang through the back roads and wound up at the Sonic Drive-In. It was a neat experience to see the server deliver our order on roller skates.
  • August 2009: Celtic Festival: Despite dire predictions of torrential rains, not a single drop fell from the skies. Organized by Joe and Michele Laurito, our merry band started out from Ft. Hunter with a Jaguar, two Porsches and a varied assortment of Triumphs. But we had a pleasant surprise in Halifax when a TR6 and a Stag just happened to be waiting for the light to change at an intersection as we passed by. They fell right in line with us and enjoyed the trip up through the back roads of Northumberland County, to the Celtic Festival at the Spyglass Ridge Winery in Sunbury PA, for a day of wine, British Cars and Celtic music and dance.
  • September 2009: Watkins Glen: We traveled Thursday morning, in sunshine, with a TR7, a TR 6, two Datsun 280Zs and a Spitfire, up "to the Glen". Jenn and Jerry Frasso put together a group to sail on a schooner on Seneca Lake. On Friday, our group of 15 sped through the Seneca wine country , with Cliff and Kathy Grube as our guides. Saturday at the track we watched some races, then for supper Tom and Sue Billett discovered a restaurant that had been a carriage house in Montour Falls - the back wall of the restaurant was the exposed stone of the mountain behind the building.
  • October 2009: Fall Leaf Tour: The Krivenkos and Billetts gathered The Club for the last organized driving event of the year on October 25th. It was run in brilliant sunshine and seasonal temps. The parking lot at McDonald's was quite full with Triumphs - twenty-one at last count, plus one Maserati and a Triumph motorcycle!
  • October 2009: Mike Grove's Graveyard Tour: A most interesting sight on this tour was a tree that managed to push through the transmission housing of a convertible TR7 and flourish while growing 15' to 20' in height through the center of the car. Nearly all models of Triumphs were seen. In the air was the sound of hammers banging, the ratcheting of socket wrenches and the grunts of CPTC'ers trying to pull parts to purchase and carry home.
  • December 2009: Holiday Party: "Wait, there's a gift card with that," said Dave English, and it was now known who would be leaving with the blue fuzzy lamp.
